23rd Bienal Poster
Louise Bourgeois was commissioned with a design for the poster, but in fact she sent four, so four different posters were produced. The poster above had the greatest impact and was adopted as the main piece for publicity purposes. Although it represents a retum to the reproduction of a work + text with details formula, and has a standard layout, this poster fulfilled its role as an icon for the event due to its powerful design. Bienal 50 Anos, 1951-2001, 2001, p.303
