16th Bienal Poster
There was a retum to the layout of the posters for the 9th and 12th Bienals, and this time the graphic element was the number 16, repeated 16 times. Although there is still a politicai allusion we return to a discourse in which the subject is the Bienal itself. The deslgn of the sequence of numbers suggests a course in which the Bienal gradually separates from a compact and amorphous graphic mass - an alluslon to the years of censorshlp that clouded several editions of the event - and regains clear and recognizable contours.
