14th Bienal Poster
Here there is no longer much room for ambiguities: there is clear reference to censorship, represented by 13 blank torn paper strips - metaphors both for the 13 previous editions of the Bienal, and the many messages silenced by the military government. So the Bienal announced by the poster is represented by the 14th strip of paper and is posed as the only possible room for expression. Bienal 50 Anos, 1951-2001, 2001, p.299
