9th Bienal Poster
The precision of this design, from what was known as the Swiss school corroborates the expression Iess is more. The number 9 gives rise to nine squares, and the visual sequence alludes to transformations in art at the time: it starts from the pattern of a clearly-defined field bounded by a frame, and moves toward a field in which there is no distinction between within and the frame itself; its boundaries become indefinable. Bienal 50 Anos, 1951-2001, 2001, p.297
