3rd Bienal Poster
This is the first poster in which graphic language acquires independence from painting. ln this, it was quite unlike the poster for the 1st Bienal, when the author was a Constructivist artist and also an occasional designer, here, the author was a designer and a sometime Constructivist artist. Forms succeed each other in a mathematical progression-pairs of triangles make up squares and their diagonaIs have the same dimension as the following square; the texts are carefully laid out so that the whole poster follows one single compositional principIe.. Bienal 50 Anos, 1951-2001, 2001, p.293
